The sixth conference of the officials of scientific research and agricultural extension in the Arab countries in the Lebanese Republic was launched today under the auspices of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Drylands (ACSAD) with the participation of the Republic of Sudan represented by Dr. Abubakr Ibrahim Mohammed Hussein, Director General of the Agricultural Research Corporation. The conference title for this year (Scientific methods to raise the efficiency of irrigation in traffic agriculture in the Arab region) was held in the period from 23 to 24 February and reviewed the sessions of some reports from the diagnosis of the systems used in irrigation operations and methods of development. Dr. Abubakr provided a detailed explanation on the agriculture in Sudan and the regulations applied in irrigation in the two sectors and stressed the keenness of the Commission to keep up with the scientific development and carry out agricultural research and follow up to reach the beneficiaries.
