The Agricultural Plant Genetic Resources Conservation and Research Centre (APGRC) of the ARC – Sudan has started uploading passport data of germplasm accessions held by the centre on the global database “Genesys”, which is an online platform where you can find information about Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (PGRFA) conserved in genebanks worldwide. This is happening as a result of a project on capacity building for strengthening the management of the plant genetic resources information system in the APGRC, which was implemented through financial support from the Global Crop Diversity Trust during 2017-2018. The objective of this process has been to facilitate access to information on such genetic resources in Sudan for enhancing their use in scientific research and breeding activities at local and global levels.
