Seed samples of 273 accessions of genetic resources of different crops that include groundnut, faba bean, wheat, barley, peas and lentils are being prepared for conservation in the genebank of the Agricultural Plant Genetic Resources Conservation and Research Centre (APGRC). These accessions were collected previously from Sudan and are being conserved in the genebanks of the International Crop Research Institute in Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) in Niger, for groundnut, and the International Centre for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA) in Lebanon and Morocco, for the rest of the crops. These seed samples of them have been repatriated recently to be conserved within Sudan, as the country of origin, at APGRC in collaboration with these institutes to which APGRC is very grateful.
